The Heart Behind Carabao

 

The Carabao Care & Counselling logo was thoughtfully designed to reflect the values at the heart of our clinic: connection, resilience, compassion, and community.

The carabao, or water buffalo, is a beloved and iconic animal in the Philippines, deeply woven into Filipino history, culture, and rural life. Often associated with strength, hard work, and perseverance, the carabao also represents a deep connection to the land and the communities it supports.

We chose the carabao as a meaningful symbol of our Filipino heritage because these values closely reflect the foundation of Carabao Care & Counselling. Like the carabao, our approach is rooted in resilience, perseverance, and collaboration - providing accessible, whole-person care that honours each individual’s story, needs, and the communities we serve.

Together with our sister company, Mango Mental Health, the use of Filipino-inspired symbolism pays tribute to the roots from which both clinics were founded. Created by sisters, Alia and Mariel Chan, these brands celebrate the values that have shaped our identities: family, care for one another, and a shared commitment to uplifting our community.

At the centre of our logo are two “sister” carabaos, gently embracing one another through the symbolic gesture of the carabao’s tail wrapping around the other. This embrace represents the bond between sisters, the strength found in connection, and the belief that we are never meant to navigate life’s challenges alone.

At its core, the carabao represents what we hope every person feels when they experience our care - supported, connected, and surrounded by a community that believes in their strength.
